Laura represents management in all aspects of labor and employment matters from counseling to litigation and everything in between.
Her broad range of experience is impressive, but what sets her apart from others is her ability to read people and understand their motives. Her advice on drafting workplace policies, contracts and handbooks as well as discipline and discharges, discrimination claims, restrictive covenant agreements, grievance arbitrations and unfair labor practice charges allows clients to keep up to speed with changing laws and compliance regulations.
Laura has extensive experience litigating claims in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies, including the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, the National Labor Relations Board, and the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission.
Her experience includes:
- Employment-related counseling and litigation regarding Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and corresponding state laws
- Restrictive covenant counseling and litigation
- Labor law compliance and litigation, including union organizing campaigns, collective bargaining negotiations, grievances arbitrations and unfair labor practice changes
- Day-to-day counseling on personnel decisions, wage and hour matters, internal complaints, investigations, employee medical leave, and policies and procedures
- Occupational safety and health litigation
