Ashley is an experienced attorney whose interest in law dates from her childhood. Ashley grew up in Austin, Texas, and while she didn’t come from a family of lawyers, politics and law were regular themes at the dinner table because the family owned and operated newspapers and publishing houses for generations. Fascinated by civic and social issues from a young age, Ashley understood early that the law was primarily about people and relationships, and she became particularly interested in a legal career that would let her work closely with her clients.
Ashley has a strong background in civil litigation and has first-chaired more than twenty trials to verdict in state courts throughout Texas. Her practice experience includes insurance law and automotive products liability, though much of her current work focuses on commercial litigation, administrative law and healthcare litigation. She frequently defends physicians’ groups and individual medical professionals before the Texas Medical Board, the State Board of Nursing, the Department of Licensing and Regulations, and the Department of State Health Services. What she loves most, though, is the time she spends counseling clients. Ashley understands that professionals who are appearing before a regulatory board are anxious and under significant stress, and she makes every effort to explain the legal process and effective defensive strategies to them. She believes that relieving her clients’ anxiety is an important part of her role as their attorney, and she aims to help them feel secure and confident.
Ashley sees communication as central to a successful case, and she is known for her approachability and responsiveness and for keeping her clients informed and aware. She would say that trust is the most important basis for the attorney-client relationship, and she works diligently to build that trust with her clients.
