Recruiting & Pipeline

We aim to create excitement and opportunity for legal professions among diverse students in law school, college, high school, and middle school. Husch Blackwell lawyers meet students of all ages in their communities and lead exercises simulating typical daily activities in the legal field, such as defending clients in mock cases and negotiating contracts.

We connect students of color to professional mentors and develop important skills to support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workforce. Our attorney-led simulations provide high school students the opportunity to experience typical activities in the legal field, such as defending clients in mock cases and negotiating contracts. The committee also offers a highly successful “Coffee Talk” program for law students, which provides one-on-one interactions with diverse attorneys.

We strive to build a workforce where individual differences are appreciated. Summer associates are assigned liaisons in order to build internal relationships, find development opportunities, and address inclusion-related concerns.

Efforts to recruit diverse attorneys include hosting diversity receptions to provide law students the opportunity to network with the firm’s attorneys and ensuring our diverse summer associates have the support needed for future success.

Husch Blackwell designed our firm around our client industries. We emphasize knowing our clients’ business and being a valued partner. Teamwork is the foundation of how we practice law. A team that includes a variety of insights is most likely to find innovative solutions to client challenges.

Building upon individual differences.
