National law firm Husch Blackwell welcomed 86 summer associates to its offices today. This year’s class comprises students from 40 law schools and features a diverse and talented group, including a trained military parachutist, a UN peacekeeper, and a Jeopardy! contestant. Since 2020, the firm has welcomed more than 550 summer associates.

“We are excited to welcome our new summer associates to the firm,” said Jamie Lawless, Husch Blackwell’s Chief Executive. “This accomplished group had many options for their summer experience, and we are proud they chose us. Our summer associate program is a cornerstone of our recruiting efforts, allowing us to engage with and develop the next generation of top legal talent. As a firm, we remain dedicated to attracting outstanding lawyers and business professionals and providing them with distinctive opportunities to advance their careers.”

The firm’s summer program runs for 10 weeks—from May to July—providing summer associates with valuable tangible experience to prepare them for the responsibilities of practicing law. In line with Husch Blackwell’s emphasis on teamwork and collaboration, each summer associate is paired with a mentor who fosters internal relationships, identifies development prospects, and acts as their advocate.

Husch Blackwell ranked among the 15 “dream” law firms that students wanted to work at in 2024, according to data published by Law360 Pulse.
