Shae represents public entities and private businesses in real estate-related litigation in connection with high-profile projects.

Shae is a veteran litigator who assists clients with a variety of real estate-related disputes, including eminent domain litigation. Her clients span multiple business operations, including midstream oil and gas assets, surface transportation infrastructure, and flood mitigation projects, among other areas. She also routinely counsels public entities engaged in high-profile infrastructure projects. She also has significant experience in a variety of commercial litigation and insurance disputes.

Shae has represented clients in both state and federal courts, and her deep understanding of Texas state law—as well as the state’s real estate industry—provides clients with valuable insight into how to account for litigation risk and to develop strategies that accomplish their overall business and legal objectives.

Shae is a frequent writer and speaker on a variety of topics, including legal and professional ethics, crisis management, and Texas condemnation law.

  • Representing oil and gas pipeline company as eminent domain litigation and transactional counsel in connection with construction of a 509-mile crude pipeline, through portions of Texas from Midland County to Harris County.
  • Representing oil and gas pipeline company as eminent domain litigation and transactional counsel in connection with construction of a 504-mile natural gas liquids pipeline, through portions of Texas from Brown County to San Jacinto County.
  • Representing oil and gas pipeline company as eminent domain litigation and transactional counsel in connection with the construction of a 65-mile pipeline through portions of Texas from Harris County to Brazoria County.
  • Representing a municipality as eminent domain litigation and transactional counsel in connection with the construction of a farm-to-market road expansion project.
  • Representing a municipality as eminent domain litigation and transactional counsel in connection with the construction of a flood risk management project.
  • Second chair on a trial team that received a unanimous jury verdict while defending a client in a car accident case involving disputed liability.
  • Obtained a favorable trial result in which her client was required to pay approximately half of what Plaintiff was offered in pre-trial settlement negotiations.
  • Won a jury trial in Deer Park Municipal Court for a commercial driver's traffic citation, resulting in a dismissal of all charges, allowing the driver's record to remain clear.
  • Obtained motion for summary judgment on res judicata grounds in car wreck subrogation action by Plaintiff's insurance company.
  • Obtained motion for summary judgment for apartment building manager in property damage claim.
  • Obtained motion for summary judgment for insurance company and independent appraiser in Hurricane Ike claim. Plaintiff appealed, but the appeal was dismissed.
  • Obtained motion for summary judgment for insurance company, sued by a third party.
  • Obtained motion for summary judgment for trucking company in case involving personal injuries after motor vehicle accident.
Outside the Office

Shae is an avid Houston and Tampa professional sports fan, but her favorite sport is college football (Go Bulls and Roll Tide!).

Shae’s favorite things about Houston are the Rodeo, the diverse and world-class restaurant scene and the ability to play golf year-round. She and her husband enjoy traveling to see family and friends, attending sporting events, and the occasional beach or mountain vacation.
