Patrick represents a wide range of clients across industries – including financial services, healthcare, manufacturing and transportation – acting as their business partner and staunch advocate in and out of the courtroom. Clients rely on Patrick’s guidance on a broad array of general commercial litigation matters including:

He handles all phases of litigation, from case inception and trial preparation to conducting depositions of fact and expert witnesses to researching and drafting pleadings, discovery requests and settlement agreements. Patrick is thorough yet efficient in researching each individual case in order to analyze available options for optimally moving forward. He especially enjoys collaborating with legal teams and expert witnesses that add insight to case strategy. What he finds most rewarding is helping clients faced with complex litigation find solutions.

Experience
  • Prevailed on behalf of a global online marketplace in a private arbitration where the arbitrator denied all claims against the client; further, the arbitrator determined the claims to be frivolous and ordered the Claimant to reimburse our client for its share of the arbitration costs, providing the client with a complete victory.
  • Served on team defending national shipbuilding contractor in complex multi-million dollar asbestos-related disease litigation.
  • As part of larger legal team, defended numerous product liability actions resulting in defense verdicts and favorable settlements.
  • Guided client mediations and other settlement negotiations.
  • Assisted in obtaining dismissal of client during early stages of litigation resulting in significant cost savings.
  • Analyzed claims for environmental pollution policies submitted by insureds related to COVID-19; evaluated coverage issues related to same; and prepared reservation of rights and denial letters.
  • Part of team representing insurer sued for breach of contract, bad faith and punitive damages in coverage dispute related to complex environmental pollution insurance policy wherein the plaintiff was seeking more than $10 million in damages. Reviewed and identified key documents; assisted with preparation for depositions of fact and expert witnesses; and researched and drafted various motions, including dispositive motions and oppositions to same. Case resolved at mediation with favorable settlement for client.
  • Key member of team which, prior to initiation of any litigation, successfully recovered nearly $1 million in benefits from insurer under life insurance policy improperly cancelled by insurer prior to insured's death.
  • Part of team defending trustee of multi-million-dollar trust in breach of fiduciary duty litigation that resulted in a favorable settlement and reimbursement of some costs associated with the trust for costs and work performed personally by the trustee.
Outside the Office

A Louisiana native, Patrick is a fan of Mardi Gras, music, and Creole and Cajun cuisine.

He also follows football, cheering on the New Orleans Saints and LSU. Patrick and his wife look forward to introducing their two young children to hiking, fishing and kayaking the great outdoors of Tennessee.
