Overview

Sean is a healthcare attorney who delivers legal advice tailored to clients’ business strategies.

Sean represents health systems, hospitals and other healthcare providers, offering guidance on a host of regulatory compliance, governance, contracting and employment matters. He cut his teeth in the industry by serving as external general counsel for various community hospitals, where he had the opportunity to work on a wide spectrum of legal questions that touch healthcare providers. Sean continues to fulfill a general counsel role for many clients today, assisting in-house teams on a daily basis with any matters that arise.

Sean also maintains a significant transactional practice. Healthcare organizations and other businesses often come to Sean for strategic transactional advice as they consider how best to structure complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, clinical affiliations and other relationships between providers. Drawing on his extensive knowledge of the industry, Sean helps clients develop growth plans to fit their organizational needs and strategies, and he ensures that the transactions he manages serve client goals. He’s enthusiastic about helping clients further their mission: Sean was drawn to healthcare law partly because he enjoys working with mission-oriented clients who are passionate about patient care.

In addition to his regulatory guidance and transactional practice, Sean also has a background in government work. Early in his career, he worked for a senior member of Congress, and he continues to help clients draft legislation and budget amendments and navigate state and federal rulemaking processes.
