Melissa’s focus and attention to detail ensure that client matters proceed smoothly.

Melissa supports attorneys and clients in intellectual property law matters. She maintains client portfolios and corresponds with clients on proper use and maintenance of patents and trademarks. With an understanding of how important it is to meet deadlines, she knows that behind-the-scene details have true impact on client businesses.

Melissa’s experience in intellectual property includes preparing preliminary trademark searches along with patent and trademark applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and foreign trademark offices, including international Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) applications. She also prepares all documents required for U.S. prosecution of patent and trademark matters, including assignments, declarations, responses to office actions, issue fees and maintenance fees. She assists in all facets of foreign patent and trademark processes, and in Section 337 filings with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC).

In addition to intellectual property law matters, Melissa assists in toxic tort litigation matters. She prepares responsive pleadings for multiple clients in addition to managing their web portals.

Outside the Office

Melissa loves spending time with her daughter, especially playing outside together. Melissa also enjoys hiking and reading – mystery novels are a favorite. She is an avid sports fan and supporter of the Green Bay Packers.

Community Leadership

At Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Melissa volunteers with a pro bono guardianship clinic, assisting attorneys and families with documents that transfer legal guardianship for disabled children.
