Luke defends clients in mass tort and product liability matters.
Luke primarily focuses his practice on the defense of manufacturers in asbestos and other toxic tort cases in Missouri and Illinois, including in jurisdictions known as particularly challenging for defendants. He generally works on sophisticated, high stakes cases—and the complexity and high stakes are exactly what drew him to the toxic tort practice area. In addition, Luke has experience with traditional product liability matters and general commercial litigation.
During his time at Truman State University, Luke worked as a corrections officer and found himself fascinated by courtroom proceedings. That experience led him to law school, where the appeal of corporate law with its intricate, team-based cases became clear. Luke enjoys the collaborative nature of corporate litigation and the challenge of navigating complicated legal and factual issues.
An externship with the St. Louis County Prosecutor’s Office during law school provided early, hands-on trial experience, including conducting preliminary hearings and direct examinations. As a fully licensed attorney, Luke also gained hearing experience in the first months of practice, helping build a strong foundation for litigation work.
In addition to his legal experience, Luke has served with the Missouri Army National Guard since 2015 and is currently a company commander for a military police unit. Military leadership has instilled a focus on teamwork, planning, and attention to detail, along with the ability to remain steady in high-pressure situations. These skills translate directly to the demands of litigation, where strategy and clear communication are essential.
Clients value Luke’s responsiveness, organization, and communication skills. He approaches every matter with a solutions-oriented mindset, aiming to address challenges directly and efficiently. His practical approach, combined with his early trial experience and a commitment to teamwork, helps clients navigate complex disputes with confidence.
