Jamie Kainalu Nakoa McCabe

Associate
Overview

Jamie defends clients in mass tort matters and complex commercial disputes.

An experienced litigator, Jamie has represented major clients in general liability matters involving general tort actions, premises liability, toxic torts, auto accidents, and commercial disputes. Within her first five years in practice, she served as third chair in both a bench trial and a jury trial, both of which ended in defense verdicts for her firm’s clients. Jamie is comfortable in the courtroom—and also understands how monumental and consequential the decision to try a case is.

Jamie’s early career included representation of multinational retailers in general liability matters, and a massive international oil company in toxic tort matters, and she quickly discovered how much she enjoyed the highly technical details of her cases. In 2024, excited both by the firm’s nationwide reach and its emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion, she joined Husch Blackwell, where she focuses her practice on asbestos and other toxic tort matters, as well as general commercial litigation.

Known for her ability to engage with clients, Jamie puts human connection at the center of her practice. She loves getting to know clients and prioritizes communication, ensuring that clients understand not only what their attorneys are doing, but why.

Jamie and her husband are avid travelers who hope to get back into their regular travel schedule as their daughter gets a bit older. They generally travel internationally every year—including a honeymoon in Japan—and they try to return to Jamie’s native Hawaii at least every other year. When she’s on the road, Jamie loves working through dining at all of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants.
