Fred focuses his practice on clients related to manufacturing and technology, but his interest in the field began long ago. After earning his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering but before attending law school, he worked as an engineer for a company that supplied automated machinery to all three U.S. automakers (as well as their suppliers), medical equipment manufacturers and computer device manufacturers.
Today, Fred has 20 years of legal experience with the acquisition, protection, enhancement and enforcement of intellectual property rights, including matters involving patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. He is involved in all phases of patent prosecution, including appeals and international applications. Fred handles multiple aspects of securing, defending and enforcing trademarks, including U.S. and international applications, oppositions and cancellations.
