Dee Baatz

Senior Paralegal
Overview

After a quarter century as a paralegal, there’s very little in the litigation world that Dee hasn’t seen.

Dee began working in the legal industry as a high school student and was quickly fascinated. She’s served as a paralegal since 1997 and has handled nearly every sort of litigation in her career. Her recent work includes complex cases involving energy matters, contracts, intellectual property and class action suits. Dee often works on multimillion-dollar cases for Fortune 500 clients, and she has supported lengthy bench and jury trials.

While Dee works with a variety of the firm’s clients, she has a particular focus on the financial services and capital markets industries. She manages and lead teams of vendors during trial preparation, organizes and assembles trial materials, coordinates document collection, manages eDiscovery document review, monitors court filings, tracks calendar deadlines, and performs extensive research.

Clients appreciate Dee’s dedication to learning their businesses: her favorite part of her work is the opportunity to dive into so many different industries and issues, and she aims to learn the ins and outs of a client’s business early in a case so that she can better understand their needs. She’s also known for bringing a sense of calm to the proceedings—in trial, she expects the unexpected and has a gift for keeping a case on track regardless of what occurs.
