Daniel defends and prosecutes complex lawsuits in Texas state and federal courts and represents banks, lenders, and financial institutions in consumer claims, creditors’ rights, and debt-collection actions.
Daniel regularly litigates complex contract disputes, commercial disputes, business tort matters, and debt collection actions. His litigation experience is exceptionally broad, including cases in each of the Texas federal districts, in various state district courts throughout Texas, in the Texas federal bankruptcy courts, and appeals to the Fifth Circuit and state appellate courts.
Daniel also represents banks, lenders, mortgage servicers, finance companies, credit unions, and automotive finance companies in high-stakes mortgage servicing and auto finance disputes. He also defends clients against wrongful foreclosure challenges, wrongful repossession claims, and claims alleging violations of state and federal consumer protection statutes. In addition, he prosecutes creditors’ rights matters, lien priority litigation, and complex collateral recovery disputes.
This uncommon combination of financial services and broad-based commercial litigation experience, which includes substantial trial and deposition work, gives Daniel a depth of perspective that informs his approach to every matter. Earlier in his career, he spent three years focusing exclusively on representing banks and lenders in litigation, transactional, and regulatory matters. More recently, Daniel spent five years engaged in a high-stakes commercial litigation practice representing individual and corporate clients in complex business disputes. A strong writer, he has a proven track record of success on dispositive motions, including motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment. His background enables him to assess early how a case is best positioned for resolution—whether through settlement or dispositive motion practice or, when necessary, through discovery, expert testimony, and trial.
Clients value Daniel’s responsiveness and ability to tailor his approach to their needs. With sophisticated institutional clients, he takes ownership of matters and handles them efficiently.. For clients navigating litigation for the first time, he provides clear guidance throughout the process while taking the time to master their business, industry, objectives, and the circumstances at issue. He considers not only the legal issues but also the motivations and business considerations underlying a dispute, allowing him to develop a strategy focused on the outcome that best serves the client’s interests.
