Bill Schenkelberg

Senior State and Local Tax Consultant
Overview

As a former c-suite executive, Bill knows businesses and their accounting needs inside out.

Bill brings 20 years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant at large public accounting firms, at one time serving as a firm’s national partner managing the state and local tax practice.

Today, Bill continues to focus on state and local taxation issues, advising Husch Blackwell clients on the nuances of complicated and evolving tax issues. He also consults on tax controversies and audit defense, helping clients throughout the entire audit process, and he advises on the various tax matters that arise during business transactions. If litigation occurs, Bill provides a seamless transition to the firm’s attorneys and litigators.

Bill has a passion for business and business operations that dates back to his undergraduate years. After his time with accounting firms, he moved in-house, serving as a chief financial officer, a chief operations officer and a chief executive officer—roles where he focused not only on finances and operations but on strategic paths forward for the companies.

Bill’s c-suite experience gives him a deep understanding of the client perspective, and he immediately grasps clients’ needs and goals. At the end of the day, he sees his role as helping people and their companies succeed.
