Husch Blackwell is proud to announce that Sarah Vincent, a senior associate and member of The Link in Kansas City, has been named the recipient of the 2026 Pro Bono Impact Award. The award, presented annually during National Pro Bono Week, recognizes attorneys who demonstrate exceptional commitment to providing legal services to those unable to afford representation and who contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the firm’s pro bono programs.
Vincent was selected for her compassionate, client-centered advocacy in federal §1983 civil rights litigation. Working closely with Civil Rights Pro Bono Counsel Brent Dulle and a junior associate, she conducted years of discovery, navigated numerous legal and logistical challenges, and guided her client through hours of challenging, emotionally charged testimony at an all-day evidentiary hearing. She brought persistence, sensitivity, and empathy to every stage of the complex case.
Vincent’s commitment made a meaningful difference in her client’s life despite the ultimate outcome in court. She went beyond the requirements of the representation to support his well-being and dignity, helping him reach a healthier, more stable place. Her work demonstrates that the impact of pro bono service extends beyond courtroom outcomes.
“Sarah profoundly affected him on the human level. She was always his lawyer, but at times served as counselor, empathetic ear, motivator, and friend,” said Dulle.
The firm also recognizes the achievements of this year’s exceptional nominees: Brenda Barrett, Allison Minicky, Nikki Multer, Emma Mays, Alex Okafor, Kevin Cowling, Herschel Bowens, and Ethan Schroeder. Each demonstrated unwavering commitment to pro bono service and made a meaningful impact on individuals and communities.
