With a focus on the healthcare industry, Kevin represents clients in complex commercial litigation matters.
A commercial litigator, Kevin handles a wide range of business disputes. As part of the firm’s Healthcare industry team, he regularly represents hospitals, health systems, providers, and other healthcare clients, including those in the pharmacy benefit management space. Kevin handles matters involving the False Claims Act (FCA), fraud allegations, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), breach of contract allegations, and a variety of healthcare-specific issues.
Before entering the legal field, Kevin taught English, history, and geometry at the high school level, an experience that sharpened his skills in reading, writing, critical analysis, and presenting information. Recognizing that these skills were a strong fit for litigation, he moved into private practice after law school, handling an array of litigation and serving on trial teams for high stakes cases. He went on to serve as a law clerk with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri for two years.
As a judicial clerk, Kevin learned to identify the critical legal issues that win cases. Working closely with judges, he developed the ability to focus on the fundamental points at stake, allowing him to avoid the common pitfall of arguing irrelevant side issues that waste valuable client resources. Kevin also saw firsthand that effective litigation relies on clear storytelling—presenting the facts and the law in a way that is accurate, understandable, and compelling to judges, juries, and arbitration panels. Years in the classroom make him skilled at constructing compelling narratives that communicate complex ideas in a straightforward way.
Kevin’s experience in the district court provided broad exposure to litigation and a solid understanding of what drives successful outcomes. He is known for listening carefully to clients, taking the time to understand their concerns and goals, and presenting each client’s interests clearly and persuasively.
