As a champion debater, Ryan designed his strategies to achieve a goal—a principle he carries into his litigation practice. He approaches each case with an awareness that multiple tactics exist, but the best is the one that achieves the client’s objectives. He practices from Atlanta via our Link virtual office.
Ryan concentrates his practice on insurance coverage and bad faith defense and on healthcare litigation. In the insurance space, he advises clients on all matters of coverage, investigates claims, advises on time-limited demands, and drafts coverage opinions. When coverage is disputed or policyholders allege bad faith, Ryan has extensive experience in bringing declaratory judgment actions or defending his clients in state and federal courts. Ryan is experienced in advising clients over a wide range of policies, litigating first-party and third-party claims, and achieving favorable outcomes.
In his healthcare practice, which has spanned more than a decade, Ryan represents hospital systems, hospitals, and healthcare providers in a wide range of disputes, including payor-payee cases, medical staff member litigation, bylaw compliance claims, disputes over National Practitioner Data Bank reporting, Certificate of Need cases, and other complex healthcare litigation.
Ryan began his career as a commercial litigator and uses those litigation skills to represent clients across diverse legal matters. Whatever the client’s goal, he develops a plan aligned with their interests and objectives—whether pursuing motions practice, vigorously litigating a case through summary judgment and trial, or driving an efficient, practical resolution.
Before joining Husch Blackwell in 2025, Ryan spent more than 13 years at a midsize law firm. Clients appreciate his experience, diligence, and exceptional advocacy. In significant, high-stakes matters, they rely on him and his skilled team for the focused analysis, meticulous attention to detail, and thorough preparation that can make all the difference in court.
