Overview

Rachel represents clients in product liability matters.

Rachel grew up sitting on courtroom benches watching her father represent his clients. She studied not only his skills as a litigator, but also his approach to client relationships. He took his cases, and his clients especially, personally. His devotion to his clients went beyond mere legal representation. Rachel now takes her clients personally in her own practice, making sure every client matter is treated with extreme care and attention.

After working in the general counsel’s office of a specialty food supplier, she gained an even greater understanding of how much is on the plates of corporate clients and their in-house attorneys. Rachel also had the opportunity to clerk for the chief judge of the Southern District of Alabama, where she supported and attended a full trial. She then externed at the Department of Justice, where she learned the unique systems of the bankruptcy courts. She additionally served as a Husch Blackwell summer associate, working on both product liability and toxic tort matters. Her summer included significant time analyzing expert witness testimony, as well as attendance at depositions and research for a 50-state tracker on asbestos rulings.

Today, Rachel focuses her practice on product liability litigation, although she has experience in asbestos and toxic tort as well. Clients appreciate her ready understanding of in-house concerns, as well as her investment in their cases: Rachel treats every case as personal to her, and she cares deeply about achieving the best outcome for her clients.

Outside the Office

After graduating from law school, Rachel has enjoyed settling into life in Chattanooga with its many outdoor attractions. Her dog, Grits, is her constant companion on her outdoor walks and hikes. Rachel, once a member of her high school rodeo team, has taken up riding horses again in the local area.

She also loves running and has been able to spend more time on the sport now that she’s completed her education. She enjoys 5Ks, sometimes with Husch Blackwell colleagues. When she’s not enjoying the outdoors, Rachel spends her spare time reading and is hoping to join her local book club.
