Paige E. Reese

Associate
Overview

Paige helps clients protect their intellectual property.

As a young student, Paige always had an interest in law; however, she also loved math and engineering. She soon discovered that intellectual property law let her combine both her passions, working with engineers to obtain patents for new inventions and technologies.

Paige prepares and prosecutes patent applications, conducts patentability and freedom to operate searches, counsels clients on the strategic use of intellectual property assets, and drafts and negotiates the complex agreements that underpin software development and licensing. She also provides counsel on general corporate matters and mergers and acquisitions, especially those with intellectual property implications. While Paige works with clients in a variety of industries, she holds a degree in computer science and has a particular focus on technology, software, new IT processes and machine learning.

Paige loves nothing more than the opportunity to work with the engineers and inventors behind new technologies. She finds it truly exciting to watch new ideas come to fruition for clients and deeply rewarding to be able to protect these ideas through the law.

Clients appreciate Paige’s passion for their work and her ability to understand their technologies. She’s known as an approachable professional who’s truly knowledgeable about both intellectual property law and the technological components behind the ideas being protected.

Outside the Office

As the owners of a nearly 100-year-old house in Kansas City, Paige and her husband are fond of home improvement projects—the more hands-on, the better. They’re also the proud owners of a double doodle (half goldendoodle and half labradoodle), Roosevelt.

Paige also enjoys simply spending time with family, no matter if that is spent appreciating a beautiful Kansas sunset on the back patio, soaking up the sun on the lake, or skiing down the mountains.
