Overview

Marissa focuses her practice on mass toxic tort, products liability, and premises liability litigation involving alleged exposure to hazardous substances, including asbestos, talc, benzene, and per‑ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). She manages cases from inception through resolution, with an emphasis on aligning litigation strategy to client business objectives, jurisdictional risk, and broader portfolio considerations. She practices from Coral Springs, Florida as a member of our virtual office, The Link.

For more than a decade, Marissa has represented Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies in complex, multi‑jurisdictional toxic tort litigation. She has served as national coordinating counsel for a range of clients, managing nationwide asbestos and cosmetic talc litigation portfolios, including for a global aviation manufacturer and a global cosmetics company. Marissa also has extensive experience serving as local counsel in some of the nation’s highest‑risk jurisdictions, including New York and Florida.

Marissa remains hands‑on through every stage of litigation. Her emphasis on early case assessment, disciplined case development, and trial‑ready preparation has led to early dismissals and favorable settlements, enabling clients to manage risk efficiently across large dockets.

Taking a practical, client‑focused approach to litigation strategy, Marissa aligns case development with broader business objectives while accounting for jurisdictional dynamics and potential nationwide implications. Her in‑depth knowledge of complex science and medicine has made her an integral part of developing new experts and advancing compelling medical causation defenses, contributing to voluntary dismissals and reduced settlement values.

Clients value Marissa’s judgment in calibrating strategy to their objectives, including when to pursue aggressive positions and when restraint better serves long‑term goals. She is known for her transparency, strong work ethic, and ability to build trusted relationships that enhance her credibility and effectiveness in achieving favorable client outcomes.
