Outside the Office

Maria has a deep love for New York City.

She likes to say that you can find the whole world here: you can meet people from all over the planet, try foods from scores of countries, and experience countless cultures. She enjoys the city’s myriad restaurants, galleries and cultural events, but her favorite thing to do is to explore different neighborhoods in great depth.

Maria loves to create meticulously-researched itineraries designed to introduce herself to a new area of the city. She enjoys taking both local and out-of-town friends along with her, but she also likes to explore alone and loves becoming an expert on each neighborhood’s unique offerings.

Community Leadership

Maria is passionate about social issues and has previously volunteered with Safe Horizon, a domestic violence hotline where she served as an advocate for callers. She has also worked with Jumpstart, a national early education organization that works with preschools in under-resourced communities.
