Mallory helps lenders close complex commercial real estate transactions.
As an undergraduate business student, Mallory discovered she was fascinated by entity formation, corporate governance and the technical nuances of business operations. She also knew that she thrived when advocating for others, and she realized that a legal career focused on corporate work would be a perfect fit.
After earning her law degree, Mallory joined the legal department at Fidelity National Financial, a leading provider of title insurance and settlement services to the real estate and mortgage industries. Her role focused on nuanced in-house work, all through the lens of a real estate company. Mallory assisted insureds in resolving title issues, including bankruptcy matters and intestate issues; handled escrow claims; and reviewed regulatory requirements and responded to the Department of Insurance and state agencies. She also retained outside counsel, a responsibility which gave her an inside view on how law firms can best add value for clients.
At Husch Blackwell, Mallory is an integral member of the Banking & Finance practice group, where she primarily assists with real estate work—a world she knows and loves for its broad reach. She serves most frequently on the lender side, representing both banks and non-bank lenders in commercial real estate transactions involving a wide variety of project types.
Mallory especially enjoys her work with clients—she left in-house work for an AmLaw 100 firm partly out of a desire to interact and build relationships with individual clients. She’s best known for her ability to break down complex, nuanced issues into easily digestible terms.
