Overview

Cody works with clients to develop winning strategies.

As an undergraduate, Cody was first drawn to law out of a passion for diving deep into subjects, developing arguments and thinking outside the box. Pre-law coursework taught him that a legal career—especially one as a litigator—was a perfect fit for these skills.

Prior to attending law school, Cody served as legislative director to a Texas state representative. The role gave him a front row seat to the process of drafting and passing laws, and he developed a solid understanding of the consensus building and strategy required. In many ways, Cody’s time in politics was an excellent foundation for litigation—a process that also relies on negotiation and careful strategy.

At Husch Blackwell, Cody represents business clients in a wide variety of commercial litigation, including contract disputes, leasing and other real property disputes, product liability, insurance claims, and commercial lending. He assists with depositions, trial preparation for both state and federal court, and alternative dispute resolution. With a competitive nature, Cody loves nothing more than achieving a win.

Known as a results-oriented professional with a strong work ethic, Cody is always ready to deliver for clients.

Cody loves sports and the outdoors.

As a former student athlete who played baseball for Davidson College, Cody is a fan of anything sports-related, including fantasy sports, and especially enjoys golfing and playing basketball. He spends as much time as possible outside, and he and his wife, Noelle, like to plan their vacations around hiking.

Cody and Noelle also enjoy playing with and walking their Pit Bull, Lila.
