Tanner is known for his clear and concise legal communication.

Tanner focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, particularly consumer class actions and multidistrict litigation. Tanner is known for his clear and concise legal communication; litigation teams across the firm frequently rely on Tanner to take the lead in drafting critical pretrial briefs, including dispositive motions and evidentiary challenges. Tanner’s prior experience as a federal law clerk provides him unique insight into the nuts and bolts of litigation, making him a valuable asset to clients attempting to navigate the federal court system.

In addition to his commercial litigation practice, Tanner also regularly assists on white collar defense matters.  Tanner’s attention to detail and ability to consider multiple perspectives allow him to build strong defense strategies for clients facing government investigations or subsequent prosecution.

The Hon. Sarah E. Pitlyk, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Missouri 

  • Served on team representing leading pharmacy benefit manager in multidistrict litigation (MDL) in Florida federal court, obtaining both a dismissal with prejudice and an important decision defending the use of mail-order pharmacies to deliver medications.
  • Drafted a motion for summary judgment in a TCPA class action which resulted in a complete dismissal with prejudice.
Outside the Office

Tanner and his wife are foodies, and they explore a new restaurant every weekend. He also enjoys reading philosophy, online chess and playing guitar.

Community Leadership

Tanner Lifts for a Purpose.

Since 2012, Tanner has collaborated with Steve’s Club, a member-based 501(c)(3) providing a national network of programs serving at-risk or underserved youth. The clubs promote health, fitness, nutrition and personal development. Tanner has organized annual weightlifting fundraising competitions and led team-building and leadership activities for teens.
