Overview

Stephen helps clients protect their innovations and defend their businesses against claims of intellectual property infringement or misappropriation.

Stephen has extensive experience litigating patent and other intellectual property matters at the district court and appellate level, and before the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board. He finds it truly satisfying to help clients protect their ideas and innovations and—although he has experience with a range of range of technologies, including smart phone applications, speech recognition technology and GPS systems—he loves nothing more than diving into a new technology in order to help a client protect it.

Cognizant of the burden that intellectual property litigation can place on company’s business operations, Stephen utilizes his deep knowledge of intellectual property law to craft efficient legal strategies that optimize client resources and focus on achieving a client’s ultimate litigation objectives. In doing so, Stephen leverages his six years of active duty experience in the United States Navy, which both instilled a mission-first mindset and also gave him direct experience with leadership and management in a large organization—experience that Stephen uses to better understand both client needs and the operations of litigation adversaries.
