Overview

Maya excels in research, writing, and problem-solving within the realm of commercial litigation.

Maya’s journey to a legal career was inspired partly by her father’s story of escaping the civil war in Serbia after attaining a student visa for higher education. Seeing the transformative power of education in her family’s life instilled in her the importance and privilege of being educated. Maya also knew she loved the collaborative, challenging nature of law, as well as its ability to bring people together to address and solve complex issues.

In law school, she was especially drawn to legal research courses, where she was challenged to find specific information and present it in the most useful way. This solidified her interest in commercial litigation: Maya enjoys diving deep into problems and uncovering legal solutions for clients. She loves the collaborative and problem-solving nature of complex litigation matters.

With a focus on clients’ best interests, Maya blends competence with her friendly, personable nature. She believes that while knowledge is crucial, it’s the genuine, trusting relationships with clients that truly set an attorney apart. Known for her attention to detail, Maya is ready to champion clients' causes with determination and warmth.

Outside the Office

Maya likes to stay as active as possible in her free time—whether that means traveling, skiing, or hiking at a national park.

With family in Serbia, Maya returns to the country at least once a year, and closer to home, she tries to fit in as many ski weekends as possible. Some of her favorite ski resorts include Whistler, Canada; Schweitzer Mountain, Idaho; Breckenridge, Colorado; and Powder Mountain, Utah.

Maya also loves to spend time with family domestically. She names her two sisters (Yelena and Lana) as her best friends.
