Jon utilizes his experience as a corporate attorney to bring a unique perspective to clients’ regulatory and litigation needs.
Jon began his legal career as a corporate M&A attorney working primarily with cannabis companies and private equity firms, where he gained exposure to the unique challenges facing highly regulated businesses. This insight led him to re-focus his practice on two areas: counseling clients on how to navigate complex regulatory structures and defending clients from both regulatory investigations and lawsuits.
Prior to attending law school, Jon co-founded a startup in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri that focused on increasing exposure for minority artists and business owners. He also held a year-long fellowship, during which he handled consulting projects for private businesses, labor unions, government agencies and nonprofits. Throughout these diverse experiences, Jon’s ability to ask the right questions to understand each client’s value structure has been the bedrock of his success.
During law school, Jon excelled as a member of the ABA National Moot Court Team, where he received awards for legal writing, was named a Top Five Speaker in the Midwest and earned admission into the Order of the Barristers honors society. A graduate of Washington University School of Law’s Appellate Clinic, Jon has experience in both written and oral advocacy at the appellate level, including handling the rebuttal argument in a case before the Sixth Circuit.
Jon’s research and drafting played a key role in the founding of the firm’s Psychedelics & Emerging Therapies practice group, and he remains involved with that industry as well. Navigating highly regulated industries requires creativity and attention to detail, and Jon’s collaborative approach provides clients with both.
