Jonah advocates for clients in intellectual property litigation.
Jonah is experienced in both bringing and defending challenges to patents, including claims of infringement, misuse, and invalidity. He regularly argues discovery dispute hearings and Markman proceedings in federal district courts and has handled all aspects of IPR proceedings. While Jonah works with a broad range of technologies and industries, he is particularly knowledgeable about electronics, software, and mechanical devices. Jonah has also litigated both trademark and copyright disputes.
As an engineering student, Jonah saw firsthand how patents fuel innovation, sparking his interest in patent law. After earning his undergraduate degree, he worked first as a product development engineer, confirming his passion for new technologies and for building practical solutions to real-world problems. He soon realized that a career in patent law would give him constant exposure to new ideas and inventions. While initially expecting to focus on patent prosecution, Jonah discovered a strong interest and skill in advocacy during law school, shifting his focus from obtaining patents to litigating them. Clients value his levelheaded approach to litigation and his ability to bring calm to tense situations.
A lifelong tinkerer, Jonah has a gift for breaking down complex matters into manageable pieces, much like taking apart a machine to see how it works. It’s a mindset that directly shapes his approach to litigation, which he views as one part of a client’s broader business strategy. Jonah focuses on how each component of a dispute fits into the bigger picture, helping clients navigate challenges while keeping business goals front and center.
