Overview

Jennifer supports the litigation needs of the firm’s insurance clients.

Jennifer had just launched her legal career in the New Orleans area when Hurricane Katrina struck—bringing her a deluge of coverage disputes and other insurance matters. She quickly discovered that the practice area was a perfect fit for her detail-driven and precise mind and went on to devote her career to insurance and its myriad legal questions. With more than 15 years of experience in insurance law, Jennifer has provided counsel on a wide variety of coverage matters, prepared coverage opinions and represented both policyholders and insurance carriers in coverage disputes and litigation. Immediately prior to joining the firm, she served as in-house coverage counsel to an insurance provider for five years.

At Husch Blackwell, Jennifer primarily drafts coverage opinions and coverage position letters addressing a variety of claims, including construction defect, employment practices, copyright infringement, professional malpractice, public entity liability and other availability of coverage questions. She works frequently with the firm’s trial attorneys who focus on coverage disputes and supports the litigation needs of insurance carrier clients. Known as a highly detail-oriented professional, Jennifer is excited to dig into the intricacy of coverage cases, assembling the puzzle pieces of policy technicalities and claim facts.

Jennifer has built a strong reputation for her responsiveness and her dedication to getting clients a precise, correct answer. She’s known as well for her in-house perspective: Jennifer’s experience as coverage counsel means she readily exceeds clients’ expectations. She understands firsthand what’s most helpful in an outside counsel coverage opinion, as well as the importance of cautious language in written documents.

Outside the Office

Jennifer jokes that her hobby is driving her kids around and getting them to sports practices and school activities. With two teens, she spends much of her time cheering them on in soccer.

When she has time to herself, Jennifer enjoys going for a run and getting together with girlfriends for wine nights.
