Houston helps clients in the energy industry with real estate needs, including transactions, regulatory matters, and project development.
Before law school, Houston was a middle school history teacher and head basketball coach. His experience leading a classroom and a team taught him how to connect with people from different backgrounds, communicate clearly, and work towards common goals, lessons carried directly into how he approaches his legal practice.
Houston is passionate about finding sustainable energy sources and was drawn to energy real estate because it lets him contribute to that goal on behalf of clients. During law school, his business planning class stood out as a highlight, showing him how legal advice and pure business incentives intersect when counseling a client, a perspective that continues to shape how he thinks through transactional work.
As a summer associate at Husch Blackwell, Houston worked on commercial litigation projects, helped advise business entities as outside counsel, and assisted startup companies with governance issues, giving him early exposure to both the transactional and dispute-resolution sides of client work.
Known for being easy to work with, Houston aims to make challenging legal matters as manageable as possible for clients. He brings attention to detail, responsiveness, and a reputation-building mindset that defined his earlier career to every matter he handles, with the goal of being a reliable, approachable presence throughout the process.
