A former social services case manager, Emily’s passion for helping others makes her a natural advocate as a commercial litigator.
Emily has a deep capacity to help people in difficult circumstances. Before joining the firm as part of the Litigation & Alternative Dispute Resolution team, she served as a social work case manager. Emily guided a caseload of more than a dozen families, helping them identify and connect with needed resources and implement medical treatment plans. Emily pairs these same skills with her legal knowledge in order to help individuals, small businesses and international corporations navigate complex legal disputes and reach successful outcomes.
In addition to the intersection of Emily’s legal knowledge and client support background, clients appreciate that Emily served legal internships with the Hon. Ortrie D. Smith, U.S. District Court, Western District of Missouri, and U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Office of the Solicitor, Kansas City. Emily also served for two years at Husch Blackwell on the Legal Support Team, collaborating at all levels of the firm and with clients on legal issues from estate planning to environmental compliance.
