For many manufacturers, importing food into the United States can be a complicated and intimidating process. In this presentation, Husch Blackwell’s Food Safety & Regulation and International Trade team will cover important topics companies need to know in order to successfully import their products into the United States. The discussion will cover issues such as facility registration, prior notice, tariff classification, FDA product codes, goods valuation, labeling requirements and FDA sampling plans. The session will also review key reasons why imports may be refused entry and ways to overcome import refusals.
