Missouri Lawyers Weekly has recognized Husch Blackwell partner Michael Fielding among the honorees in the publication’s inaugural Top Legal Innovation Awards.
The award series is a celebration of excellence in legal innovation across the state of Missouri, recognizing attorneys, law firms and businesses whose “progressive work drives new practice areas, services and business strategies.” Fielding was recognized in the New Services and Products category for his work in developing Pref-Defend, a proprietary analytical tool used in defending and resolving preference claims in bankruptcy proceedings.
Fielding is a Kansas City-based bankruptcy lawyer and a frequent author and speaker on debtor/creditor issues, including bankruptcy, avoidance actions, landlord-tenant issues, evidence, electronically stored information, arbitration, international litigation and ethics. He is one of a handful of attorneys in Missouri and Kansas who are board certified in Business Bankruptcy by the American Board of Certification. In 2018 Fielding was listed in the IFLR 1000 US legal directory for bankruptcy law, one of just six Missouri lawyers recognized.
Fielding was recognized along with other honorees December 5 at the Top Legal Innovation Awards event at The Gallery Event Space & The Kill Devil Club in Kansas City.
