Husch Blackwell’s Alan Cates Receives Volunteer Lawyer of the Year Award

Husch Blackwell’s Alan L. Cates was honored with the Bruce C. Bailey Volunteer Lawyer of the Year Award by the Legal Aid Association of East Tennessee (LAET) during the organization’s annual Pro Bono Night June 9, 2017.

Cates, who practices in Husch Blackwell’s Chattanooga office and is a partner in the firm’s Financial Services and Capital Markets group, was honored “for his exemplary service to clients and for his long-time support of LAET.”

LAET’s mission is to “ensure equal justice for elderly, abused, and low income persons, providing a wide range of civil legal assistance and advocacy.” The organization has served 26 East Tennessee counties for more than 40 years.
