Husch Blackwell No. 12 among Modern Healthcare’s Largest Healthcare Law Firms; No. 5 on AHLA’s List

Husch Blackwell’s Healthcare, Life Sciences and Pharmaceuticals team continues to grow and to receive national recognition. National healthcare publication Modern Healthcare announced today that Husch Blackwell is the 12th-largest healthcare law firm in the U.S. according to its 2014 rankings, up from No. 17 last year. Utilizing differing measurement techniques, American Health Lawyers Association also ranked healthcare practices, placing Husch Blackwell as fifth-largest in the country in its 2014 list, released earlier in June. This ranking advanced from ninth in 2013, 14th in 2012 and 18th in 2011.

AHLA is the nation’s largest, nonpartisan, 501(c)3 educational organization devoted to legal issues in the healthcare field. Currently 141 Husch Blackwell attorneys are AHLA members, and the firm boasts the most members in Missouri and Texas. Additionally, five Husch Blackwell attorneys serve in leadership positions within AHLA: Partners Barbara L. Miltenberger, David Pursell, Harvey M. TettlebaumRobert J. TomasoCori Casey Turner and associate Lisa Luetkemeyer.

The recognition from Modern Healthcare and AHLA validates the firm’s continued investment in the healthcare industry. In the past six months alone, Husch Blackwell has added 11 attorneys to its Healthcare, Life Sciences & Pharmaceuticals team. Those additions include former chief legal officer of Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System Ed Barker and six attorneys in Denver who focus on post-acute care matters.
