Husch Blackwell Named a Law360 International Trade Practice Group of the Year

News Releases

National law firm Husch Blackwell has been named one of Law360’s International Trade Practice Groups of the Year for 2025, a distinction recognizing the most impactful and complex trade work across the legal industry.

In 2025, Husch Blackwell’s International Trade & Supply Chain team achieved a number of notable wins for clients, including:

  • Securing a rare change of country of origin designation from China to Mexico on behalf of a company that imports injection molding machines assembled in Mexico from sources and supply chains across several countries.
  • Filing antidumping and countervailing duty petitions on behalf of American Chrome & Chemicals, Inc., with the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) and the U.S. Department of Commerce. The petitions sought an investigation, of the potentially unfair trade practices by India and Turkey that are injuring the sole U.S. producer of chromic acid (also known as chromium trioxide), a chemical used in coatings and wood preservatives. Commerce recently initiated the investigation and the USITC preliminarily found that Husch Blackwell’s client was injured by reason of imports.
  • Securing a change-of-origin designation for certain homeware products manufactured outside the United States and imports into the United States. This was the first time in the company’s history that it requested a ruling from CBP.
  • Prevailing at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on behalf of Kansas-based client Ventria Bioscience (d/b/a InVitria and ExpressTec), when a three-judge panel affirmed a U.S. International Trade Commission’s 2022 decision that found Wuhan Healthgen Biotechnology Corp. and its distributors in violation of U.S. trade law.
  • Successfully challenging the Department of Commerce’s determination that garlic imported by Export Packers was included within the scope of an antidumping duty order on fresh garlic imported from China. The Court of International Trade concluded that Export Packers’ cooked garlic was, in fact, outside the scope.

“We are grateful to be named a Practice Group of the Year by Law360,” said Cortney Morgan, Husch Blackwell partner and leader of the firm’s International Trade & Supply Chain practice. “This recognition reflects the depth of experience and sharp focus our team brings to helping our clients navigate increasingly complex trade and supply chain challenges. It’s especially meaningful to be recognized for delivering the real-world results we’ve achieved together, whether navigating customs, export controls, trade remedies, or other trade-related matters.”

Now in its 16th year, Law360’s Practice Groups of the Year awards highlight up to five practice groups that secured the biggest litigation victories or deals of the year. Winners are recognized for the size, complexity, and significance of the deals or litigation they worked on.

Law360 selected more than 170 winning groups across more than 30 practice areas. The 2025 honorees were chosen from nearly 800 submissions.

Husch Blackwell’s accomplishments will be profiled by Law360 in the coming weeks.
