Husch Blackwell Continues to Expand Healthcare Practice and West Coast Presence with Addition of Two Litigators

News Releases

Husch Blackwell is pleased to announce that leading commercial litigator Greg Pimstone has joined the firm as a partner in its Los Angeles office. He joins the firm from Manatt, Phelps & Phillips.

Pimstone brings decades of experience representing some of California’s largest companies, including corporations in the healthcare sector, in complex, high-stakes disputes at the trial and appellate level, including class actions, government investigations, and appellate matters. He has extensive experience as a lead trial attorney and has been responsible for more published appellate opinions in California in the healthcare space than any other attorney over the past twenty years. Joining Pimstone is Senior Counsel Michael Nordon, who represents many of California's largest healthcare payors and providers at all stages in their sophisticated litigation and regulatory matters.

“Greg and Michael bring a rare combination of deep healthcare litigation experience, strong California market presence, and longstanding institutional client relationships,” said Curt Chase, partner and leader of the firm’s Healthcare, Life Sciences, and Education industry group. “They strengthen our ability to support health plans and other healthcare organizations facing bet-the-company matters and complex regulatory disputes—while accelerating our growth in a strategically important market.”

Pimstone has been ranked in Chambers USA for more than 20 years and is one of only seven attorneys, and one of only two litigators, in Band 1 for healthcare attorneys in California. The Daily Journal has recognized him multiple times as one of the top 100 attorneys in the state of California and named him one of the state’s Leading Commercial Litigators of 2025 and 2026. He has also taught healthcare law at Berkeley Law.

“We’re excited to join Husch Blackwell and help expand the firm’s healthcare litigation capabilities in California,” Pimstone said. “The firm’s national platform and collaborative approach will help us meet clients’ most complex needs while continuing to grow healthcare litigation work across the state.”
