Husch Blackwell Continues Expansion of Commercial Litigation Practice with Addition of Four-Attorney Team in Denver

News Releases

Husch Blackwell continued its strategic national growth efforts with the addition of a team of complex commercial litigators that includes Denver-based partners Scott Browning, Jessica Fuller, Stephen Steele, and senior associate Megan Fugier. The group, which comes from Lewis Roca, joins the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Nonprofit Organizations & Religious Institutions practices.

Led by Browning and Fuller, who together have more than 50 years of experience, the group represents prominent commercial, governmental, non-profit, and religious organizations all over the country and internationally. The team regularly defends large and complicated lawsuits, and their work includes assisting organizations facing federal investigations and grand jury subpoenas, as well as clients under investigation by various states’ attorneys general. Also joining the attorneys are paralegals Jennifer Buchholz and Lisa Vialpando.

“Scott and Jessica are top-tier litigators and highly regarded practitioners in this field, and their team expands the offerings of our commercial litigation practice and Nonprofit Organizations & Religious Institutions team, and further fortifies an already strong Denver litigation presence,” said Michael Hargens, partner and leader of the Husch Blackwell’s commercial litigation practice.

Browning also represents and counsels media companies, aerospace and technology companies, construction companies, financial institutions, and educational institutions. Fuller’s practice includes class action defense, creative class settlements, and national experience creating and administering large-scale private settlement and reparations programs.

“Husch Blackwell provides us with a national, deep bench that will enhance how we serve clients,” Browning said. “Grounded in a more than 100-year tradition of excellence, the firm is also one of the fastest growing Am Law 100 firms, with remarkable growth in the last decade. The clarity of this move— being best for our clients—has been the overwhelmingly positive support received from them, many of whom were quick to point out that they know Husch Blackwell and already turn to the firm for legal services.”

In the first quarter of 2024, Husch Blackwell added 49 attorneys, which included an 11-attorney intellectual property team and a five-attorney mass tort and product liability team, both in Minneapolis.
