National law firm Husch Blackwell is pleased to announce that five of its attorneys are being recognized through the International Municipal Lawyers Association’s (IMLA) Amicus Awards.
Led by partner Michael Raupp, the Husch Blackwell team wrote and filed an amicus curiae brief on behalf of IMLA, urging the U.S. Supreme Court to grant certiorari in Tekoh v. Vega. The case involved the admissibility of expert testimony regarding interrogation techniques used by law enforcement.
The Amicus Awards are part of IMLA’s Legal Advocacy program, which promotes the interests of local government in amicus briefs filed at appellate courts nationally, including state supreme courts, the federal Circuit Courts of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Through roughly 40 briefs each year, IMLA voices the perspectives and concerns of localities nationwide.
In addition to Raupp, the Husch Blackwell team included attorneys Ben Stephens, Sebastian Waisman, Spencer Tolson, and Addison May. They were recognized at an awards ceremony as part of the 2025 IMLA Mid-Year Seminar on April 25 in Washington, DC.
