Drew A. Canning has joined Husch Blackwell’s Kansas City office as an associate in its Healthcare Regulatory & Compliance Counseling practice.
Canning comes to Husch Blackwell from the largest pharmacy benefit management organization in the country, where he worked on regulatory issues, compliance, and client solutions. He has broad knowledge of health care law and regulations that include the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), as well as subject areas that include antitrust in healthcare, state health insurance oversight, tax exempt organizations, and Medicaid contracts and Medicare reimbursement.
Canning earned his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law with a concentration in health law and his B.A. in communications & journalism from Webster University. He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, The Missouri Bar and the American Society of Law, Medicine and Ethics.
