Colorado Privacy Act

Helping clients navigate and comply with Colorado's consumer privacy legislation.

On July 7, 2021, Colorado officially became the third state – after California and Virginia – to pass broad consumer privacy legislation when Governor Jared Polis signed the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA) into law. The CPA will go into effect on July 1, 2023.

Husch Blackwell's Data Privacy and Cybersecurity team guides clients on how to comply with the CPA. Our privacy attorneys advise clients on all aspects of the Colorado Privacy Act, including whether the CPA applies to their business, the CPA’s requirements for providing specific consumer disclosures, its opt-out provisions, and responding to consumer requests.

Our privacy team keeps a pulse on the latest developments related to the Colorado Privacy Act and other state privacy legislation through thought leadership offerings including blogging, podcasting and routine webinars.
