Overview

Udit helps clients protect, commercialize and defend their innovations through patent prosecution, intellectual property litigation, and related transactional work.

With a background spanning law, computer science, and behavioral science, Udit is able to move between technical and legal audiences and explain each to the other. He holds a B.S. in Psychological and Brain Sciences and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Colorado Boulder, which he pursued concurrently with his J.D. at Washington University School of Law after his first summer at Husch Blackwell.

Patent practice combines two things Udit enjoys: understanding how a technology works and finding the precise language that captures it. That interest took shape in law school, where he took nearly every IP course offered, received the top grade awarded in eight of ten, and was a semifinalist in the Chicago regional of the AIPLA Giles Sutherland Rich Memorial Moot Court Competition, briefing and arguing a patent problem before practitioners and judges.

Beyond patents, Udit has experience in trademark matters, including proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

During his two summers at Husch Blackwell, Udit also worked with the firm's in-house AI and data science team on coding projects, giving him a practical sense of how technology can support legal practice.

Udit is known for being easy to work with and dependable when it counts. Clients can expect a lighthearted, approachable attitude paired with the work ethic to see a matter through once the pressure is on.
