Sydney helps clients navigate complex commercial disputes through every stage of state and federal litigation.
Before joining Husch Blackwell, Sydney served as a federal law clerk to Magistrate Judge William E. Duffin of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. The clerkship sharpened her ability to assess competing arguments, identify key issues, and communicate legal analysis clearly. Known for her attention to detail, Sydney approaches each matter with responsiveness, careful preparation, and a commitment to keeping clients informed throughout the dispute.
Sydney developed practical advocacy skills through intensive coursework in pretrial advocacy, trial advocacy, and negotiation at the University of Wisconsin Law School. She also worked directly with clients through the Constitutional Litigation, Appeals and Sentencing Project and the Family Legal Advocacy and Supports Clinic, gaining insight into the practical effects legal matters can have on clients’ lives. Her judicial externship with Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice Annette Ziegler further strengthened her legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
As a summer associate in Husch Blackwell’s Madison office, Sydney contributed to class action disputes, environmental regulatory matters, health care disputes, and real estate transactions. That breadth confirmed her interest in solving fact-intensive problems across industries and building her career at Husch Blackwell.
