Paige Murphy

Patent Engineer
Overview

After earning a mechanical engineering degree with a pre-law minor, Paige assists clients with patent prosecution.

Paige grew up fascinated by engineering and was drawn to STEM courses in high school and college. However, she knew she was also skilled in communication and enjoyed working with people. As a bartender during her undergrad years, Paige had a customer who recommended she look into a career as a patent engineer, and she added a pre-law minor and a paralegal certificate to her mechanical engineering degree—all while being a Division 1 swimmer.

Today, Paige assists with patent prosecution, drafting applications, responding to office actions and proposing amendments, and guiding clients throughout the patent process. She is particularly focused on mechanical systems, as well as different manufacturing processes.

Previously, Paige served as an engineering intern in a chemical laboratory, in the maintenance department of a major pork producer, and in product development for a plastic injection molding company. Her diverse experiences showed her not only how engineering works inside corporations, but also how companies vary in their internal processes and plans. In addition to her engineering work, Paige also previously served as a paralegal, giving her an understanding of legal practice—and of how much is often at stake for legal clients.

Known for her skills in both the engineering and legal fields, Paige leaves clients confident that she can handle any matter they bring her.
