Mike assists clients with patent applications, with a focus on mechanical and aerospace engineering and medical devices.
Mike has a lifelong passion for math and mechanical technology: he loves figuring out how things work, and he’s especially fascinated by aerospace engineering and military aircraft. After earning a master’s degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering, Mike was offered a role as a patent agent at his first law firm, where he quickly discovered that he thrived on the challenge of utility patents and claims drafting. He supported major software developers, telecommunications providers, and apparel companies, performing most of his work for a household name brand.
At Husch Blackwell, Mike assists clients and attorneys with patent prosecution, drafting patent applications, responding to office actions, and guiding clients’ patent strategies. He primarily works with mechanical innovations, including construction equipment, as well as aerospace technologies and medical devices.
Known as a highly responsive professional, Mike is known for always answering the phone—sometimes, even when he’s out for a run after work. He has a reputation for taking his work deeply seriously, and he knows how much the innovations he helps patent matter to clients’ businesses.
