Melisa is a team player contributing to client solutions.

Doing her part to move clients forward is the most satisfying aspect of paralegal assistant work for Melisa. She assists attorneys on product liability and mass tort matters, such as asbestos cases, and has experience in helping lawyers on employment law and intellectual property issues.

Melisa contributes a broad range of detail-oriented tasks to successful legal teams including research, organization, preparing documents, preparing binders for expert witnesses and consolidating information for deposition.

Clients and attorneys appreciate that she’s a dependable team player who is thorough in her work. She thrives on the often fast pace of getting clients and attorneys what is needed for optimal strategies and outcomes.

Experience
  • Served as case assistant and paralegal assistant in gas-line explosion case in which multiple plaintiffs negotiated settlements and zero defense verdict was achieved at one trial.
Outside the Office

Melisa reads about the Old West and Civil War, and visits U.S. historical sites such as Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and Dodge City, Kansas. The Alamo in San Antonio, Texas, is on her destination list. She also travels to KU to see one of her children and cheer on the Jayhawks.

At home, she enjoys baking cheesecakes, cookies and cinnamon rolls, getting especially creative with cupcake toppings, but lets the crockpot do her day-to-day cooking.

Melisa is active in her church leadership, as a director who schedules a wide range of activities.
