Mariel focuses on intellectual property law, particularly trademarks and copyrights.

Mariel’s legal career began with a job as an administrative assistant at a law firm after college. Drawn to the collaborative nature of the field and the constant opportunity for learning, she went on to enroll in law school, where she honed her legal writing skills as part of the law journal.

Mariel also discovered a passion for intellectual property law. She was especially fascinated by the intricacies of trademarks, from the application process to the protection and management of portfolios. Her experience as a summer associate also included a primary focus on IP projects, and the experience broadened her understanding and deepened her appreciation for the field.

At Husch Blackwell, Mariel focuses on trademarks and copyrights. She enjoys helping clients maintain their brand vision and is known for her detail-oriented nature and her eagerness to learn.

Outside the Office

A New York native, Mariel loves the Buffalo Bills and the New York Knicks. She also enjoys reading history and trying out new recipes.

Most of Mariel’s free time is devoted to her Beagle Husky mix, Egg, and they can often be found walking Nashville’s trails together.
