Studying broadcast journalism as an undergraduate laid the foundation for Mariah’s interest in a legal career. Law school became a natural next step, allowing Mariah to apply those skills while helping people navigate a legal system that can often feel complex and overwhelming.

During law school, she gained firsthand advocacy experience through the Criminal Justice Clinic and explored the intersection of business and law through a Corporate Counsel externship. She also completed a course on using artificial intelligence in pre-litigation work, which introduced innovative ways to apply technology to legal practice.
As a two-time summer associate at Husch Blackwell, Mariah worked on projects across a range of practice areas and observed a variety of litigation proceedings. The experience deepened her understanding of case strategy and effective client representation.
