Kat collaborates with clients to help them protect their trademarks, enhance their reputation, and strengthen brand loyalty.
Kat enjoys working with clients at every stage of their businesses, as they establish, maintain, and strengthen their intellectual property. She understands that trademarks are powerful tools that heavily influence purchasing decisions and contribute to enhancing brand loyalty. She also recognizes the value trademarks add to society by protecting consumers and promoting brand accountability.
During law school, Kat was actively involved in the Trademark & Transactions Clinic, where she served as the supervising student attorney, managing other students and providing pro bono trademark services to various clients. She also founded and presided over the Masters of the Trade(marks) student organization, further honing her skills and knowledge in this field.
As a summer associate at Husch Blackwell, Kat worked on trademark licensing issues, analyzed trade dress matters, prepared trademark applications, responded to office actions, investigated Customs enforcement against counterfeit goods, and worked with foreign counsel to protect clients’ brands globally. She also spent a summer as an in-house intern at Anheuser-Busch, where she gained valuable insights into collaborating with internal marketing teams and viewing intellectual property from a business perspective.
Known for her enthusiasm and authenticity, Kat is passionate about helping clients strengthen their trademark portfolios. Her background in business allows her to relate to entrepreneurs and companies, making her a dedicated and effective advocate for their trademark needs. She is just as excited about clients’ trademarks as they are and will always work her hardest to determine the best outcome for their brands.
