An education attorney, Kaia helps colleges and universities navigate legal and regulatory challenges.
While in undergraduate and law school, Kaia competed as a NCAA D1 track and field athlete, 3x NCAA All-American, and the winner of the Wilma Rudolph Award for perseverance. Through this experience and her legal education, Kaia discovered an interest in education law when she saw how deeply the legal system shapes schools and the lives of students, faculty, and staff.
As a summer associate at the firm, Kaia assisted with research projects related to higher education, bankruptcy, and insolvency. She also had the opportunity to work in-house with Vanderbilt University’s Office of General Counsel, focusing on the impact of new affirmative action rulings on university policies and operations. This direct exposure to the practical side of university law underscored how quickly institutions must respond to legal changes.
Kaia is a determined and creative problem solver. Clients value her ability to adapt to new and changing regulations, approach challenges with careful analysis, and deliver solutions that meet the needs of educational institutions.
